Idiot Controversy

'Five point someone' - a title which remains absurd until one reads the book, a fantastic novel and the first Chetan Bhagat book i read. The book of the kind 'no one can read just one', which keeps tempting us to read the next page. His recent work '2 states' is another mind blowing romantic comedy and yes, I'm Chetan's fan now.

The movie '3 idiots' was a much awaited movie. But we really got disturbed by the controversial talk on whether the storyline was from Chetan's book. I really enjoyed the movie '3 idiots'. The movie has given a message to let children study the subject of their interest and to have a practical approach to the subject rather than just being theoretical. Forty to fifty percent of Chetan's work can be seen in the movie. Like the ragging part, a brilliant guy among the three, the professor and his daughter, one of the friends getting apart fearing exam scores and fighting poverty, the suicide attempt, trying to steal the exam paper and getting caught by calling through office number. There are some changes in story and other new elements are introduced in the story which are fun. But the story base is 'five point someone' and hence, though not the whole credit, major credit goes to Chetan and he should have been thanked and his name should have been mentioned. Chetan can be easily known as a person by reading his books 'five point someone' and '2 states' and hence can't be said as a person craving for publicity since he already has his own and has a huge number of fans. It is also not about the money but is about one's own hard work and getting its credit. The response given by the film makers to him is not appreciable and not correct.

Well, on a personal note, i would say, the movie was really fun packed and nice, but the novel was more fun and interesting. The more had that (the book) been followed, the more enjoyable it(movie) would have been.
