For name sake or in the true sense?

This is a small incident which took place just outside our house. In front of our entrance gate sits a flower seller selling beautiful mogras at reasonable rates. Beside her , sits a young man selling pani puris on a tricycle stand. He sits near an open drainage wherein all the people residing nearby dump all the household garbage. So it remains nasty with several flies hovering around.

Once my mom was standing at the gate, just watching the people passing by. A lady was passing by with her little son, who just went jumping around his mother. The lady was well dressed and seemed to be a working lady from a very well settled family. The son stopped and asked his mom to buy pani puris for him. The thought which occurred to my mom was that the son should not be bought those pani puris and should be somehow convinced by that lady. Already it’s an untidy stall with flies around and who knows the quality of the water he might use to make the masala pani for those puris.

But the lady said okay and bought one plate for him. The son ate it happily and after finishing it, started jumping for water to drink. The flower seller sitting nearby offered him her water bottle and said “Beta, I have some. Do you want it?” The lady interrupted her and said “No, don’t give. I provide only boiled water to my son”.

My mom came laughing inside and told us what happened. My dad and I just bursted out into laughter.

I hope the message is clear!! Are people really hygienic in the true sense?!! People need to think about it.
